Título
RETROSPECTIVE ANALYSIS OF PGT-SR RESULTS OF BIOPSIED EMBRYOS FROM A PRIVATE IVF CLINIC
Objetivos
Despite the evolution in assisted reproduction (AR) techniques and pre-implantation genetic tests (PGT), data regarding the genetic analysis of embryos and the outcome of cases are still scarce in the literature. To contribute to the knowledge in this field, the purpose of this study is to carry out a retrospective analysis of PGT for chromosomal structural rearrangements (PGT-SR) results of biopsied embryos from a private IVF clinic, demonstrating the outcome obtained.
Método
Descriptive analysis of results obtained from 34 couples submitted to PGT-SR from 2017 to 2023.
Resultados
77 blastocysts were biopsied and screened for partial aneuploidies. The mean maternal age was 37.9 years. Of the 34 patients that underwent PGT‐SR, reciprocal translocations accounted for 70.6% of cases [24/34], followed by inversions (17.6% [6/34]), derived chromosomes (5.9% [2/34)] insertions (2.9 % [1/34]), and Robertsonian translocations (2.9 % [1/34]). Nine (26.5%) patients completed more than one IVF cycle. The mean percentage of euploid embryos was 18.2% per patient [14/77]. From the aneuploid embryos, 36.4% had no direct relation to the parental translocation [28/77], 24.7% involved chromosomes related and not related to the translocation [19/77] and 20.8% involved only chromosomes derived from the parental translocation [16/77]. Seven patients had at least 1 euploid embryo, 6 were transferred and 2 pregnancies are ongoing.
Conclusões
Our preliminary results reinforce that parental chromosomal structural rearrangements contribute to infertility in addition to full aneuploidies age associated.
